I have a 27+ year old home, and the original dryer vent was missing the top slat after the vent cleaning guy accidentally broke it. I replaced it with a piece of tape while I figured out what to do. I figured I'd just replace the whole vent (mainly due to age), but when I got in the crawl to see what all was involved, it was a little overwhelming.
I started looking at buying a vent of the same size and just swapping out the slats, but I'm telling you, it's near impossible to find one the right size! So, I started toying with the idea of "hiring" a 3D printer to print some custom ones for me. I tried the various sites where you can see who's out there to perform such deeds, but it was like finding a needle in a haystack looking for anyone to publish DETAILS.
When I stumbled acrosss Louver Lovers (I think first on Etsy, then directly to their site), I have to admit, I was a bit jaded. However, the more I dug around, the better the product looked, and the DETAILS were everywhere! Whoever's running this little business has got it going on! The guidance for selecting slats, the ordering process, the email follow-through, the unexpected "quantity" discount (starts at 3 slats), the shipping time - everything was smooth as butter. When I received my 3 new slats in the mail, I opened them and was immediately impressed with how substantial they felt. I installed them in my old vent very easily and can now move on to the next project. Thanks, Louver Lovers - you're the best in the business! :)
